Getting StartedBefore using the SomnoPose app, you'll need to decide how to wear your iPhone® (or iPod touch®) while you sleep. Your device should be worn with its screen facing forward (typically on your chest or abdomen). See Wearing Your Device for more information. When you're ready to start using SomnoPose, follow these steps:
SomnoPose continually records and saves position data to update the displayed charts and statistics. If you sit up or get out of bed during the night, your upright position will cause SomnoPose to pause its alarms until you lie down again. Tap the Charts tab at any time to view a full chart of the night's recorded position data. In the morning you can use the slide control to remove the shield, and tap the Stop button to stop data recording. If you tap the Run button on a subsequent night (or after any break of four or more hours), SomnoPose will reset the displayed statistics, and start a new session with its own chart. Usage TipsTo conserve battery power (especially on an iPod touch), reduce the screen brightness. This may also be better for viewing in low light. The Main view has a volume control slider that displays and adjusts the overall volume of your device. The Undesired position alarm switch can be used to turn the alarm off if you just want SomnoPose to record position data without awakening you when it detects that you are in an undesired position. While the default settings may typically be adequate, the Settings tab provides access to additional controls.
