Getting Started with SomnoPose
Before using the SomnoPose app, you'll need to decide how to wear your iPhone® or iPod touch® while you sleep. Your device should normally be worn in a portrait orientation, with its screen forward (typically on your chest or abdomen). See Wearing Your Device for more information.
When you're ready to start using SomnoPose, follow these steps:
SomnoPose continually collects position data to update the displayed times and percentages for each sleep position, the total time lying down, and the number of face-up episodes detected.
If you sit up or get out of bed during the night, the upright position of the device will cause SomnoPose to pause its alarms and updates to statistics until you lie down again.
Tap the Chart tab at any time to view a full chart of the night's collected position data.
In the morning you can use the slide control to remove the shield, and tap the Setup/View button to stop data collection. If you press the device's Home button, SomnoPose will save its data so that it can be restored next time you launch it.
If you tap the Run button on a subsequent night (or after any break of four or more hours), SomnoPose will clear and restart the displayed statistics and start a separate chart.
To conserve battery power, reduce screen brightness before launching SomnoPose. This may also be better for viewing in low light.
The Main screen has a volume control slider that displays and adjusts the overall volume of your device.
The alarm switch can be used to turn the alarm off if you just want SomnoPose to collect position data without awakening you when it detects that you are on your back.
While the default settings may typically be adequate, the Settings tab provides access to additional controls.
